Collective Idea

The Situation

Collective Idea is a software company (they build it and they teach it) that apparently discriminates against non-brilliant people during the hiring process. Everyone who works at Collective Idea is highly talented and has the confidence that comes with such talent. For their website, they want to entice new customers, obviously, and they know they can, but they don’t want to sound elite or scummy about it.

The Solution

Write it as they act. They are humble people, and humility can coexist with confidence. Going too far in either direction could be bad, but perfectly striking that balance was a fun challenge. The finished product was a website that reads exactly like they read and act, giving potential customers an extremely accurate first glimpse of the company.

The Result

This website is visually striking with a clean feel to it, which rightfully received a lot of compliments for which I cannot claim credit. However, the visual appeal makes it easier for people to actually (gasp) read the words on the site, which have helped lead to a number of inquiries, many of which led to new business for Collective Idea.
