EJ Tackett's Triple Crown Chase

The Situation

EJ Tackett had a chance to complete bowling’s Triple Crown in the 2022 U.S. Open, leading all players into the finals, in which he lost to Anthony Simonsen. Tackett’s rise to the top of the sport was actively ongoing, but he still needed to emphatically break through.

The Solution

We followed Tackett’s entire tournament, documenting his story along with several others that came up during competition. Worst case, we’d have a documentary on the U.S. Open and whatever happened. Best case, we’d have Tackett’s full breakthrough told in-depth.

The Result

Best case. Tackett won the 2023 U.S. Open to complete the Triple Crown, won four more times on the season and eventually went on to earn Player of the Year honors every year since (this sentence is being written prior to the announcement of the 2026 Player of the Year, which should also go to Tackett).
